So Black Panther is absolutely going to be an original Avenger in that world. No way Loki doesnt find Wakanda.

I also think we were far enough into Iron man 2 for War Machine to join.

I like to imagine Spider-Man being an Avenger in his crappy homemade costume since Stark isn't alive to make him the upgraded one.

Favorite What If? episode so far. Felt so sad for Doctor Strange Supreme.

I really was not expecting that follow-through, man that was good and brought some real emotion. Honestly this ep made me so much more excited for Dr. Strange 2, of course What If is gonna have a lot of freedom what with being an animation and one exploring any sort of alternative universe, but this episode actually felt a lot in line with the first movie and it's made me more interested to explore the world of Stephen Strange.

4 > 2 > 3 > 1, close call between the middle two but clear choice on the end-points so far (1 much further down than 4 is ahead)

Man with every episode though I can't get over what a bad first impression the first episode gave, after the debut my interest was ready to drop off, but now the show's just pumping out some really great stuff.

Nothings really crossed over yet so it's fine

They seemingly will be connected at some point, but that point hasn't happened yet so for the current episodes I don't see why not watch in any order since they're all self-contained so far.

You can watch in any order.

Honestly, I wish more shows did that where you don't have to watch in order. It's especially pleasant in the MCU, but it's something I would like more in general.

You can absolutely watch in any order (at least so far), but there is one tiny little crossover that I noticed in this ep to another - Shuma-Gorath!

I have to add, while it was a great episode, I think it might've worked better if we had had more Christine in the MCU so far. She was only really in Doctor Strange and while the arc is still believable, it doesn't quite have the impact.

The thing he was stuck in at the end was purple, which is the colour of the Power Stone. And if Strange Supreme really absorbed that many entities, it could make sense that that's the source of the Power Stone's power.

Yeah that was fantastic and both easily the best episode so far and I think the best entry in Phase 4 so far.

I really liked Shang-Chi! One thing that confused me though (extremely minor spoilers):

When Shang-Chi tells Awkwafina that his real name isn't "Shaun" and is actually Shang-Chi, she acts really surprised. But like, it's not unusual for Asian people to have a traditional name and an American name. I'd think maybe that was for the benefit of audiences who may not be familiar with the practice, but then later on Wenwu asks her what her Chinese name is and she had an answer. The way she played the scene, it seemed possible she was making it up on the spot, but it didn't seem like she was surprised or confused about the concept, or that the film expected the audience might be.

True that was a little weird.

First time watching any movie on opening day, Shang-Chi was a fun one.

For an origin story I thought it was pretty good, it didn't go into as many Chinese cliches as I thought it would, which was nice. It had a nice balance overall. Looking forward to how it connects with the greater MCU story!

I wonder if the rings have a connection to the Eternals or not.

That's definitely a strong theory, considering how they have used post-credits scenes in the past to link to movies coming up soon. But on the other hand, it's a little awkward to raise these questions with Shang-Chi and then answer them in a movie he's not in.

Also the Celestials aren't that level of unknown, Carol should have recognized something if it was them.

In the comics the rings were found by the Mandarin aboard an alien starship belonging to the Makluans, Fin Fang Foom being the most notable member of said race. That might be who the message was sent to.

So in the mid-credits scene, I guess Bruce is back to normal again? And why is his arm in a sling if he's still the Hulk?

Yeah that's one of the biggest questions I had coming out of the movie.

His arm still seems to be damaged from undoing the snap in Endgame, even as Banner. I am also curious to see why he's Banner again though. Might be addressed in the She Hulk show.

I'm sure they just did it so he could appear without being expensive CGI, but hopefully they'll give a story justification. And I'm not sure he could give Jennifer a blood transfusion do she could become She-Hulk if he couldn't change back. As for his arm I believe they've said it will never heal.

So here's a question -

I have never heard of Shang-Chi and know absolutely nothing about him or any other characters related to him, but I do enjoy most of the MCU movies. How much will I enjoy this movie?
