Started happening about a month ago where when I turn on my desktop computer, the wifi would not work. It doesn't detect any wifi networks, so what I have to do is restart the computer to fix the issue. My initial suspicion was it was related to a Windows update, but when I looked, the only updates shown were for MS Office, which I doubt would be the cause. You can only roll updates back by 10 days, which is a dumb restriction. The issue started as a non-daily thing that progressed to a daily thing, so I have to boot up my computer twice every day. I noticed when I restart it, it takes longer to boot up then if I start from scratch. Also, if the computer goes to sleep, the wifi issue also occurs. Hoping all the details provided can allow someone to figure out the issue and the fix!

So if you select the Shut Down option then turn your computer back on it won't connect to Wi-Fi. But, if you select the Restart option to restart your computer, it will connect after restart?

My only advice is to turn off power management for your wifi adapter
Device Manager > Network Adapters > Right click on adapter and go properties > power management > turn off "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" Fixes a lot of issues with wireless adapters --- skull ... Copied to Clipboard!

It seems to me if skullbones suggestion doesnt work, you may have to replace your internal wireless card.

I had an issue once where my internet would stop working exactly 2 hours after turning on and I had to restart my computer, then 2 hours later I would have to restart again. This was like 15 years ago so it's hard to remember but iirc it had something to do with Windows Firewall

Glad to hear that, always good to hear when a computer mystery gets solved
I didn't want to make a "turn it off and back on again" joke while you were grappling with that, and yet... I guess sometimes the answer is to just turn it off, lol. ... Copied to Clipboard!
