So now both of my PS4 controllers have drift leaving me with zero controllers that work. The one I got with my PS4 Pro. It's drifting down and to the right. And the second one drifted brand new out if the box. I never used it and was going to send it in for repair that never did.

I know that sounds stupid because who wastes $69.99 to get a broken controller out of the box. Long story short. Life happened. I still have the ability to send it into Sony unless their send-in time expires after months.

Anywho, should I just take them both to GameStop and get nothing for them and buy new controllers or what? This drift problem sucks. I heard there was a class action lawsuit on it. I never had this problem with PS1 2 or 3 controllers.

If you are just gunna throw them out, take them apart (hammer... screwdriver, doesn't matter) and give the circuit board to a recycler, they might give you 15 cents for it

I bought a new one from best buy with the 2 year replacement plan. I'm going to send the other two back to Sony. One isn't even used and one is old. I'm going to attach a note telling them to just bill me. Between 3 controllers, I think the drift can be abated for long enough until I switch to ps5 and don't use them anymore. I got the replacement plan for free with my coupons.

lol the first review was some dude complaining with a 1 star rating about how it only lasted 2 months before drift. I always get the magma red ones too. They seem to have lots of trouble. It's probably just coincidence though.

Throw them away or at least try to get a refund on the one that came broken. Why hang on to broken junk?

You could try the paper shim trick, someone on the net took apart his joycons and added a paper shim between the stick and the contact point and I think someone found it worked on the PS controllers as well.

If you can get them replaced by Sony or your point of purchase, then do so, otherwise, you would have to try ordering a replacement analogue stick through alibaba or something, but that's going to be expensive given the current market and will probably take a month just to get it to customs.

PS4 controllers are the most poorly built mainstream controller ever. I've had two break, and I even replaced the circuit board sheet thing inside one of them that wasn't responding to button presses. It fixed it for about 3 months before it fried again.

Looks like you're just going to have to buy a new one.

Take them apart and see if you can solve the problem yourself. If not just buy new ones.

I have fixed 5/10 of my controllers back to working conditions. The hard part to putting a ps4 controller back together is those L2 and R2 springs. Watch a video and see if thats for you.

20 years ago I would, but I got rid of all my electronics work area stuff. I just throw money at stuff now that I'm older. Just got back from the UPS Store. Insured both for $200 and sent them to Texas for $26.09. They'll arrive Tuesday.

The techs will probably open it up and read my notes and laugh at me and my plight amongst themselves. They'll probably just break more of it, maybe pee all over them and send them back with delta variant all over them both.

Or maybe I could get lucky and they'll fix them. Either way Zagreus will have to wait until the new one ships in to Best Buy on the 26th.

Did you just pay 226 dollars(shipping included) to fix 2 ps4 controllers?

The $26 insured the both so that if the package is lost, I get $200. Of course I wouldn't pay way over the price to ship them. I'd sooner just buy one of those $200 PS4 controllers that came out in 2018 or whatever.

However so as not to deny you some sport, I have done something equally as stupid as that. So you may point and laugh at me for that. I spent about $250 for a rare pet in an MMO. That's pretty dumb. So yeah, I'm a dumbass if you want to demean me and call me names. I deserve it.

What other dumb shit have I done. Too long to list really. I once paid $1600x3 advance rent plus another 5k moving expense for an ex so we would end on good terms. She did pay me back 2k, but either way that was pretty stupid of me. I didn't owe her a damn thing. She just begged and guilt tripped and I gave in.

Hmm, something that takes the cake. What would it be. Oh yeah, I once spent 3 years after college paying off a 25k debt that was totally unnecessary. That money could've been a down payment on a new house. Money wise that probably the biggest mistake I ever made.

So they sent back one magma red controller that works. Doing a run on Hades now to confirm. They didn't send back the other black one I sent that wasn't part of the original ticket, but was I closed with receipt and note. Receipt sent back but no note or controller.

I now have 2 magma red. I can forfeit the black one, but I'm guessing I should call and ask wtf happened to it. I doubt one of their techs would care about swiping a broken PS4 controller or trolling me and removing it as it wasn't part of the ticket. The note I wrote was relatable and kind anyway.

Either way, who's to say. I should've called and made another ticket. With any luck, the extra controller I sent was out in a bin with a note and I can have it sent back repaired too.
