None of that is satisfying for me. It just feels lile doing a chore or something and I dont get any positive feelings from it

Seems like it should feel more rewarding, or maybe it's not supposed to be. Who knows

You don't feel better when improving yourself?

One way is to gamify it. If you log your incremental stats, then you can have a physical barometer of your improvement.

Wanting to improve or better yourself should be very simple to understand, once you reach your goal you have literally accomplished something.

I have this issue with drawing. I just get frustrated at my low skill. I hate that I can't bring my ideas out my head in a satisfying way and it kinda feeds into itself into a self esteem wrecking loop.

At least with physical fitness/dieting, it's an actual straight up feeling of feeling better in the moment. And in turn it makes it much more fun/exciting/different when you do have something like a cheat meal or go out for a night on the town with drinks.

Not really... the exception is exercise which usually feels good after, but not really long term I guess

I'm competitive, so being better than those around me is a rush. Also, there are fewer consequences in a lot of instances when you're best or at least really good at things. I like that security

That is a bad thing though, discipline without the want, or desire is pointless. You need to get some enjoyment out of doing something or having discipline.

so you dont think youd feel better seeing significat results in the mirror in the case of fitness? or going from nothing to self made millionaire?

youd definitely feel more confident, its all long term though, none of that happens overnight, slow progress, sometimes setback but you keep at it and trust the process

I feel good when I see my six pack, I feel good when I can run all day in the mountains and not feel tired, I feel good when I can ski smooth as butter down crazy slopes

Are you just not finishing what you started?
