We all saw what happened when Bleach and Naruto ended. The losing side of each shipping fandom went ballistic. Can we expect the same thing to happen in 40 years when One Piece ends, or is it not really about that?

There's shipping wars in every fandom, but it's a little less hectic in One Piece due to how asexual most of the characters are outside of Sanji. You can bet people will lose their shit regardless though.

there are some ships (I know about LuffyxNami, LuffyxLaw, LuffyxHancock, FrankyxRobin, and ZoroxSanji exist), but idk if there are many wars, and I'm sure that most characters will remain single by the end of the series

I don't know how anybody expected Naruto and Sakura to end up together after the fake confession, to be honest. I feel like that was the final nail in the shipping coffin. Plus the fact that Sakura always had Sasuke on her mind, even right to the end of the war.

It really shocked me when the uproar happened. Shocked and then entertained.
