Do you think 2 years is fair?

She plead guilty in June to a felony count of making bomb threats as authorities said she entered Gerrity's Supermarket near Wilkes-Barre on March 25, 2020 and purposely coughed on fresh produce and other foods while yelling she had the virus She continued in several aisles before attempting to steal a 12 pack of beer as she was ordered to leave by an employee She then said "I have the virus and you're all going to get sick" and then proceeded to the BAKERY section to spit on the buns Joe Fasula, co owner of the chain said more than 35,000 worth of merchandise had to be thrown out which he called a "twisted prank" She tested negative for the virus accordign to her lawyer and said she was wasted at the time. Cirko sobbed and said she wish she could take it back as the pandemic made her lose her mind over the restrictions But a judge said her conduct was "totally outrageous" and sentenced her to 1 to 2 years in prison followed by 8 years of probation and pay 30,000 in restitution. Her lawyer, Thomas S. Cometa tried to have the bomb threat charge dismissed after claiming the statue would require a mechanical device, not bodily fluids but a judge upheld the charge Her case now sets a precedent for future cases like this involving bodily fluids being classified as a bomb threat but prosecutors withdrew charges of terroristic threats, criminal attempt to commit theft and criminal mischief under her plea She was arrested before as well where she tried to enter a church and said she was a CHILD OF GOD despite being asked to leave and then said "let me in God, i love you" Fasula was outraged over the loss of food and the mounting issue of supply when panic ensued during those early days causing shoppers to raid the store where they also had to deep clean the store again as well Do you think 2 years is fair? https://i.imgur.com/MlQZ6bj.jpg https://i.imgur.com/CqrHVqx.jpg https://i.imgur.com/5QY4z6d.jpg https://i.imgur.com/NpRRF29.jpg https://i.imgur.com/UbGqnzr.jpg https://i.imgur.com/WGmaM8m.jpg https://i.imgur.com/NPhHykR.jpg --- The News Will Continue...For Now call me mrduckbear, sweater monkeys. I think one could argue that she was making a sort of terrorist threat except that there was no political angle per se so it doesn't fit either. What a stupid woman. Probably never faced consequences for fucking over other people before in her life. Joe Fasula, co owner of the chain said more than 35,000 worth of merchandise had to be thrown out which he called a "twisted prank"She probably should have been charged for destruction of property or something. withdrew charges of terroristic threats, criminal attempt to commit theft and criminal mischief under her pleaTbh these charges seem more appropriate to me. At the very least, threatening someone with an infectious disease (regardless of whether or not you have the disease) seems like it should be a crime in and of itself to go alongside charges like criminal transmission of a deadly disease (which some places have for HIV). --- Hi ... 2 years is clearly excessive, although she needed prison after reading about *all* of the shit she did.

The charge doesn't really fit. Eh, I can kind of see it. For the purpose of inciting panic, she proclaimed that there were multiple objects in the store that had the potential to cause serious harm to large numbers of people within it. Especially in the early days of the pandemic, when so little was known about its transmission that evacuating the store might actually have been reasonable after she contaminated it so thoroughly, it's not an altogether unreasonable charge, if a bit awkward.
