Abortions aren't exactly pleasant from what I hear, I don't think it's something a lot of women look forward to doing. It's more that the one time unpleasantness of the abortion is more palatable than adding another mouth to feed and the financial burden it adds for at least 18 years (medical bills, added food, education and clothes, braces, any ailments they pick up along the way). People who can barely sustain themselves shouldn't be raising children and children don't need to be raised in that kind of environment. Adoption and being a surrogate isn't exactly an easy answer either since there's so much red tape around it.

I agree abortion isn't exactly some golden solution and no one should be thrilled to get one (I don't think many are tbh like I said) but it's the best solution we have.

Body autonomy, which includes access to safe abortions, is absolutely a requirement of a free society. It doesn't really matter if you think it is morally or ethically good or bad.

If the people actually want to reduce the number of abortions, they should do things like expand sex-education and make birth control and knowledge of its proper use more accessible. But the most staunchly anti-abortion folks also seem to be very much against that too.

I dont disagree with that, I disagree with the premise that its always morally good and ethical

Again, since a lot of people here don't know how to read, I 100% support abortions. What I don't like are the ones that make it seem like an easy choice, something they're proud of doing. Rubs me the wrong way, is what I said. No hate, nothing like that. Just like, "why?"

Yours and several other posts ignore the fact that birth control isn't 100 percent unless you completely remove reproductive parts and that many women can't physically carry a baby without risk of their own health.

I never once did that. In fact I know that abortion is a normal hospital procedure to do when there is a mis-carriage in the body.

I never said that either. Maybe necessary evil was the wrong choice of word because I'm just not a fan of abortion (for emotional reasons, not logical) but realize it is something that has to exist because the alternative is much much worst. Plus once a person loses rights to their body, it will create a worst ripple effect. So if you want, I will recant the "necassary evil" part of my post. I just didn't think of a word that can express how I felt about the situation, but in no way with what you posted is even accurate to my opinion on abortion and unwanted pregnancy.

I'm talking about the people that are proud to have gotten one. Something that I can't find quickly with a Google search, but I have seen. Again, "seems like," not that's what they're doing.

Seems like what you're describing is really rare and only anecdotal (convenient evidence that you can't follow up on). And again, are they really "proud" or are they trying to not let the shamers win and just defending their decision?

I mean there's no doubt that there are fucked up women that enjoy getting an abortion, but speaking anecdotally I have never once talked to a women who had that attitude. In fact, it's normally the opposite. It's a hard af choice to make because of the situation they're in. I've even had women I talked to in the past even say to me they regret getting one or would even make mini memorial for it. It's a difficult position because pregnancy is tough physically and mentally... and that's just the pregnancy part. When the baby is out, there's added more complications along with a baby that will make you lose a bunch of sleep.

Abortion has become more a political ploy the last few decades than a moral one. The religious right continue to fight Abortion, but in the same breath don't take issue with social security and Medicare safety nets being cut. Really?

How hypocritical. That Bible they like to thump had so many laws besides abortion. You would think they would start a crusade from other things. What about those orphans? The elderly? I laugh at the hypocrisy of the religious type because they don't even follow the archetype of their pledged Messiah.

This conservative, religious right, traditional viewpoint would rather have you enslaved to the rich and play a newly founded notion of the divine right.

The right and conservatives have no grounds to use Biblical structure to back their ways because their agenda push a different narrative. And honestly, abortion is just a rallying cry to have their supporters believing they have a moral high ground. They don't.

I say this as a person who actually believes in Christ as the Messiah. But to sit there and condemn abortion on the basis of biblical text is just mid boggling when you seem to turn your cheek when other atrocities against the Bible are committed by their rank and file everyday.

I am pro choice and don't think highly of abortion, but if God never wanted abortion, than it could never happen. That's what I tell the bleeding heart righties who think the gates to heaven can only be through that door.

Fully agree. Do I endorse abortion? No.

However, a person sin is their sin. That's between them and God. That's what I got from the text. Too many religious type promote freedom and then want to eliminate ones. C'mon now.

If you read the Bible, you would know that the unwed couple living together in a sexual relationship that goes to your church is just as wrong as the girl standing in line at planned Parenthood looking to abort. That's not my perception or Creed, that comes from the Almighty.

I don't endorse a world of heathen, but Abortion is far from the biggest problem we have. I just wish some christians would stop being blinded by these crooks using one sin to gain allegiance and cooperation.
