FYI: Its not what it sounds like. You get to level-up your equipment and even summon help from online co-op. XD

But yea,

theres people who beat the game without ever even leveling up. The advantage to this is actually part of what Ive heard being called Min-Maxing ~ maximum power at the lowest possible level. Thats part of how people Twink low-level players. So, basically, you do an insane amount of damage & have insane defenses with the best equipment in the game, but your level is extremely low and you get matched with much weaker players as a result of all that.

There are legit challenge runs for solo/coop on the other hand. Such as people who beat the game without dying or resting (which DAS2 rewards you for), never rolling, etc.

Because it is single player (almost entirely) Sekiro is (naturally) perfect for doing weird stuff to challenge yourself or gimp the game, no deflect, disabling the HUD, saving 90% of your skill points to put into the Dragon Mask on NG to attain super powers lol, playing Charmless, etc. Ive done all of those things. Its super fun.

I've never found SL1 very interesting, since your choices of equipment become very limited

I'm a much bigger fan of single weapon runs with weird shit I dont normally use

Honestly, it feels better to do custom/meta-type stuff in Souls than most other games because of how half-broken the game is anyway lol, and it adds some personal value behind the entire excursion into frustration & honing your skills when you can show them off to other people online, beating them in real time. Any online game is like this honestly, but Souls in particular is very fun because of its other geniuses (how it handles single-player) & whatnot.

Id compare it to collecting the skulls with friends in Halo 2, only *much* easier. (Maybe 50%) ~ breaking the game can be a grand adventure!

I've made SL1 twinks in DS1 for pvp, but otherwise nah.
