Haven't looked up a single thing, but I got nothing and hate this now.

I'm at the Stone Temple and fucking nothing. Can't make it past the second god damn room. On one side there's a big sun block, but no sun to get rid of it. In the other room it's 4 switches to open the door. I can do 3 with the statues and step on the fourth, but the second I get off the gate closes. Can't get it down with the Deku mask. Bombed the wall to reveal a chest on the ceiling. I can tell I can flip this temple, but I got fucking no clue how to make it past this room.

Iirc you need to use a crate or object in the room to hold down one of the switches.

Is this the first or second temple?

Yeah all the dungeons are longer than OOT, and every playthrough of the game this is where I give up. Goddamn stone temple lol

There's always some puzzle where the solution should be obvious and you just overlook it for whatever reason. And then you look it up and you could swear you tried that and it didn't work. Or you elected not to try it because it's too stupid to bother trying in the first place.

I beat OOT without a guide at 8. Majora's Mask is a much different beast.

Beat the temple and got the 4th mask. If I go to the top of the Clock Tower to face Skull Kid the game's over right? Cause I wanna do all the side stuff before hitting credits.

Correct, don't go up there yet

Once you go to confront the skull kid you enter the point of no return. Id recommend getting all the masks before facing him, if youre into side quests.

Very vague recommendation about the last battle:
If someone asks you to give away an important inventory item, give it to them.

Ive noticed a lot of old games seem far harder than I remember them. Pokemon red and blue for example. But in that case i feel it boils down to as a kid I had all the time and patience to grind like a mother fucker. Like in yellow literally beat the elite 4 and Gary with just pikachu Bruno was the only challenge. I doubt id have the patience today to grind pikachu to lvl 100

Can't you still Song of Time after that though? It is the final stretch of the game, but you can technically still return from it freely.

Yes, but there is a very good reason to not play the song of time on the moon if you arrive there with all the masks. Just trust me. Do NOT play the song of time.

How the FUCK was I supposed to know that I have to use bottled spiders on soil patches on the walls? Fuck kinda logic is that yo?

I did this game without a guide though to this day, I have no idea how. I suck at puzzles. I think I first realized you can draw out something from soil patches when I did one of the spider places. You had to put bugs in a bottle so they'd crawl in. But I only found that out cause I just liked seeing what could go into the bottles ever since Link shoved the nut princess in it and I remember thinking that was really stupid, so stupid that you may as well just try it on everything cause you never know!

Try everything on anything you are stuck on is kinda zelda logic even if I tend to forget that myself sometimes

Think the oracle games where the first I ever beat with no help at all. But thata mostly cause I'm impatient and hate being stuck. So many times i kicked myself in thr ass cause after seeing the solution I just knew i coulda figured it out if not for the impatience

MM has the hardest 3D dungeons in the series. Either Stone Temple or the Great Bay Temple. Jesus Christ the Great Bay Temple. I didn't even beat it when I first played it as a child. Got the ice arrows and noped out straight to the desert.
