I'm from California and I always hear New Yorkers griping about the quality of our pizza here; that the quality is nothing compared to what you get on the "streets" of NYC. Is this true? I always assumed the ovens in NY were used for a longer period of time, therefore having more flavor than your recently opened pizza joint. I actually don't know anything about pizza. Can someone more knowledgeable shed some light on this?

What NYC has going for it is availability and cost. There are great pizzerias everywhere in NYC and you can get pizza for cheap somehow, too. In terms of bang for your buck, New York is the pizza king.

That all being said, if you dont mind more variety and higher costs, Id stand by a Chicago as still having the best pizza, both deep dish and thin.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

Based on my experience from the 15 states I've been to yes New York has the best pizza.

Some of the other 35 states could have better pizza for all I know. But I'd have to see for myself.

Ah I see, so the cost is cheap for the quality. I'm not sure what I can compare this to as I've never had "NY" pizza other than new yorkers from pizza hut. Is it similar in taste except for its pricing?
