Uh maybe loading times? They're a bit dismal on a base PS4. Major area transitions take upwards of thirty seconds.

It's a 3D platformer so it's got some foibles in making sure you land your jumps. I just love it for its setting, tone, and writing.

I do have a PS5 so if thats they only reason I might go for it

dunno if Microsoft is gonna do like, exclusive DLC for the Xbox version or some shit like that

There's no PS5 specific version so you'd be playing the PS4 version on it. Don't know what the difference would be because I'm a poor pleb without a PS5. :O

PS5 improves load times on PS4 games pretty significantly

Yeah I would imagine in general that's the case. I just have no specific confirmation about Psychonauts 2, or how much.

Beat it other night. Good game. Load times on pro were still kinda bad. Also some brief freezes for like a second.

Oh and once I got hung up to the point of needing a reset. The game doesn't autosave as often as it probably should, which is to say, not on every transition, but most of them.

I never required a reset, but i did get stuck a few times that required jumping around in different directions for a minute to get unstuck

Yeah mine specifically was in the Pillinko in Hollis' mind. Wedged myself just right enough that Raz could spin around on the pill, but no amount of jumping or Control Stick could get me un-wedged. Lost about five minutes because it didn't save over transitions into and out of Pillinko (was collecting Fragments).

It's everything you want out of a sequel. Everything that made the original great but bigger with more polish.

i spent about an hour with it (thank you Gamepass!) and i agree, it feels "right at home". gameplay has been updated with modern QoL / conveniences but still retains the charm and feeling of the original.
