People always bitch about Jason running, but it was well done imo.

It had some funny scenes and absurd lines that really made it apparent they were going with unconventional humor(nipple placement lol). Plus, instead of writing Jason like a teleporting jackass, dude was portrayed as smart.

He set traps for his victims(tied one guy up in a sleeping back with a fire under him, using the screams to attract the rest), and pretty much treated it like big game hunting.

But it got shit on all the same. It didn't deserve it, though, unlike nightmare on elm street's godawful remake.

And part 6 was the best F13

Jason ran in Friday the 13th: Part II and that was the best film in the series.

I disagree part 6 was but I agree that him running doesn't change much.

People were just bitching to bitch. It had a good cast, it knew when to be light and when to be serious, and had fantastic kills.

The whole movie is a mess. Like how they pull the whole Oh, he WASN'T a child rapist...but wait, he actually was. That little twist had potential but they just ruined it.

Oh and the graphics were garbage. I liked maybe...one kill from that movie. The rest were just 'NOES part 1 but with worse visuals'

I think the big problem with the Friday the 13th remake is that it feels like just another sequel.

It doesn't introduce concepts the way that it should. It just assumes that you know who Jason is. And if you don't, it has a tokenistic backstory shoehorned into the opening minutes of the film.

They would have been better to have left out Pamela Voorhees than to have brought her in and killed her off in the first five minutes of the movie.

That's fair.

I wasn't much a fan of the Pamela stuff either. Removing that and just starting it off with Jason would have been a better way to go, easily.

Oh man I just watched NOES remake, and yeah, it was horrible. Nothing made sense. Freddie's a baddie, then he didn't do anything wrong, but then he did. He's so bad in this movie.
I would think getting cut would hurt way more but these people kinda just shrug it off?
Whatever. What a pointless movie.

Seriously, that whole twist that Freddy was a product of the parents freaking out over nothing could have been amazing. But instead they were like PSYCH! Rapist LMAO.

Ugh. Annoying and pointless.

It surprises me that they fucked up THAT bad with NOES. It isn't an easy task to fuck up considering...well, the movies past the first have a weird track record. But they did fuck it up bad. They couldn't even make the kills good!

Half the movie is just the older movies with (somehow)worse effects. Like the part where Freddy peers in through the wall above Nancy's room.

In the movie, they used practical effects. Iirc they had a wall made of Spandex so they could have the effect work.

In the movie, it's CGI. And it looks so...so fucking bad.

Here's some comparisons: https://youtu.be/MLy4JO4xuak

I thought it was fine. I of course do not like the whole underground tunnel thing because it takes away some of the mystique of Jason. One of the scariest aspects was that no matter how much you ran he could always seemingly walk and catch up to you. I think providing a logical explanation for it was a mistake.

I liked everything else about it. though.

The tunnels make sense. It's efficient, and Jason isn't just a dumb teleporting slasher in this like he is in the other movies.

I found it kind of forgettable, though I do remember it being kind of weird that it had like 3 consecutive prologues before actually getting to the main story.

They do make sense, but that's kind of my problem with them. What you don't see is always scarier than what you do see. Basically what I'm saying is that I like the undead semi-supernatural Jason more when compared to the more grounded reality based version.

Again, I liked everything else about the movie though.

Well, Jason wasn't undead until Part 6. And he was still teleporting before that.

I also enjoy undead Jason. Part 6 is legitimately my favorite movie in the series, it blends the camp and cheese with some serious moments and the best portrayal of Tommy. Plus, Alice Cooper theme song lol.

That being said, considering in the remake Jason is alive, it makes sense.

Now if it was undead Jason, I doubt he'd really...care about tunnels lol.
