Its not an accident. Theres been a mask mandate here since last march and although its certainly not enforced 100%, its pretty well followed by both sides of the political spectrum up here. It's really weird to be seeing relatives on social media in hard hit states crying about 'm-m-m-muh freedom" just not getting it.

Kansas looks exactly what I'd expect it to look like with all major non-KC population zones being shit.

The darkest part of NY also happens to be one of the best counties in the state when it comes to the vaccine. That has to suck, to do the right thing and still get hit hard. But then again there has only been one death there in a long time, so that's at least reassuring that the vaccine is doing it's job.

What's your point?

This is measured on average cases per 100k, it's a percentage, not a raw count.

Population density does play a major role though in the spread of a virus. The map is helpful, but it doesn't show the whole picture.

Northern Maine appears to be doing much worse than the rest of New England, but it's mostly forest. 10 cases a day will make you orange. On the opposite side, places like NYC you would expect to have higher numbers simply due to the high amount of people, so their numbers should be viewed a little differently.

From the map,, the virus seems to be coming from Tennessee and spreading into neighboring states. Everyone stop associating with Tennessee please and we can get this thing under wraps.

I ask again, what's your point. We have a very high population density and we're stuck between Boston and NYC
