Does this ride look "safe" to you?

6 y/o Wongel Estifanos has been identified as the little girl who fell 110 feet to her death while riding the Haunted Mine Drop ride at a Colorado Theme Park!!

She was with her EXTENDED FAMILY at Glenwood Caverns amusement park when she slipped out almost immediately after the ride went to the top and fell down the shaft at the free fall atraction

A Gofundme page was set up aiming to raise 50,000 for funeral costs and other expenses for the family at this difficult time

It says "Wongel was a beautiful, caring an cheerful girl who loves Jesus so much for a 6 year old. Her life was cut short in this tragic accident. "

She was a student at Steston Elementary in Colorado Springs

This ride opened up in 2017 and was specifically designed without shoulder restraints to mae the dramatic drop "a little bit more scary" according to its designer Stan Checketts

Questions are being asked how a young girl was even allowed to board th ride which was created to provide a wild experience as an investiation is underway

Previous visitors said the seat belts were not tight enough and definitely not safe for younger riders

Checketts boasted about the ride in an interview that he wanted people to be scared for their lives because it makes you feel like you're falling to your DEATH.

Everyone must sign a WAIVER that they will not sue if they or someone they're with is injured or DIES from the ride.

Stan claims their rides work really well and are electronically monitored to show if a restraint is improperly fastened

A guest of the park who rode it before the incident said her seatbelt was thoroughly checked who said there were 2 seatbelts per person and thought she had buckled both of hers in and said the operator went back to her and secured her again because it wasn't fully secured the first time

She said "My understanding is th ride wont' start until everyone is secured properly so if it helps Glenwood at all, they do double check the seatbelts"

The waiver however won't protect the park from potential criminal charges depending on the details of the situation said a lawer but it will protect them from civil liability

Does that ride look "safe" to you?

If the ride looked sketchy why did the parents let their 6 year old ride it? Some of this falls on them. Everyone else is not responsible for your parental obligation to keep your own child safe.

6 y/o should not be on rides that require you to sign a waiver

Shit, 6 year olds shouldn't be riding anything more intense than the whirling coffee cups.

Again. Where the hell were the parents? They said the person running the ride looked like a teenager in a previous write up. You need to take responsibility for your child above what the "Rules" may say. There are a lot of rules that say stuff is safe but an intelligent person knows that you should err on the side of caution especially when it comes to yours or your child's life.

This. I've never seen or heard of a ride that requires you to sign waivers. And a drop ride needs otsr period the end. I like a good drop ride, but i would not get on that thing.

Ok then let's play semantics. Where were the "adults"? Someone over 18 had to sign the waiver for the minor.
