I wanted to ignore all the telltale incesty signs that they were doing with the whole brother-sister dynamic of all the characters especially Velvet and Laphicet so as not to prematurely accuse them of being gross but they just keep pushing it and pushing it. Then you have the twist that ~~Laphicet is apparently the reincarnation of Velvet's dead nephew~~ so... ? It's just too much. And they have a scene where ~~he intimately brushes her hair after they both went to hot springs bath~~ and it just does not have the desired effect of having me... I dunno, care? I don't even know what these particular developers and anime writers' intentions are with scenes like this, like what am I supposed to think? In the beginning when it was about Velvet replacing her dead brother with this new Laphicet and him resenting that and wanting to be his own person, l liked that, it was some good development. But then they just get weird. Every scene, skit and bit of dialogue develops the characters further, adds humor and levity to break the tension, and is just presented so fantastically. Eizen and Rokuro acting like surrogate older brothers to Laphicet are some of the best skits, especially the beetle bits lol. The game just doesn't really touch upon the depth of her feelings and essentially leave it up to the player to pick up on. They are a bit more blunt when it comes to Oscar and Teresa though. That being said I was hoping there would be alternated outfits that would be better but I haven't gotten any outfits yet, only her villager outfit and her prisoner outfit.
