There like 5 grand seikos Id want before a Rolex.and I dont think seiko is the finest watchmaker or anything like that.

Are you talking about the spring drive? Its a true automatic, but they regulate it with quartz. But your movement is what creates the electricity for the quartz.

Because it uses no battery. The movement is a tiny dynamo that creates a charge (millivolts) instead of directly powering the movement, it is regulated through quartz for the timing, effectively. It has like an automatic clutch so if the timing of the mechanical is getting off from the quartz its able to self correct. To be honest Ive watched like 10 videos on them and still dont fully get it it, but your movement powers the watch, so in my mind, thats a pure automatic.

Ive heard of them. There are a few old models I like, do they even make kinetic anymore though? They do have a battery from what I understand.
