They are already pretty much guaranteed to take back the House due to redistricting after the Census, less than a million people have died from Covid, and of those who have died, black and Hispanic/Latino people are overrepresented when compared to the general population (even more so when factoring in that the vast majority of deaths from Covid were in the baby boomer and older generations which skew far less diverse than gen-x and younger generations do).

We will not be saved by a blue wave. It isnt coming. Never was. Organize your workplace.

This. You already know why they fought against mandates and vaccines. It was to eliminate poor people who cannot work from home and afford to stay safe all the time. Latinos and African Americans tend to vote left as well.

The US has 435 congressional districts, and has had about 660K Covid deaths so far, or about 1,500 deaths per congressional district. A horrible scenario of 2K daily deaths nationwide until the mid-term elections would put the total number of Covid deaths at about 1.5M, or about 3,500 deaths per congressional district. If those 3,500 deaths per congressional district were overwhelmingly Republican voters, then a guess would be that Democrats would be able to flip every seat that Republicans won by 3K or less votes in 2020. That would be a grand total of 4 House seats (CA-21, CA-25, IA-2, NY-22).

If enough Republicans died for it to affect voting, Democrat politicians would deliberately slight as many people as possible to try and force them into voting Republican. Both parties want a near 50/50 split on voter turnout so that the status quo can be maintained. The electoral college selects whom the mutual financial backers of both parties would most like to see as president and nobody bats an eye because, even if you got 60 of the vote and still lost, we can always fall back on how "complicated" the electoral process is. What they don't want is a 70/30 or 80/20 split.

If all power goes to Democrats, we'll be left wondering where that universal healthcare and free college is.
