Ah yes, the first time losing what is at the moment a large amount of souls. Once you get a few more hours in, you'd be making that amount in minutes.

In Dark Souls III I got killed by the crystal sage at the same time as I killed it. So the boss souls were left in my bloodstain. But, I got the enkindling from the boss when I respawned. So when I made my way back to the souls, I got fucking invaded.

So I'm running away from this invader with a fuck you large sword, rolling around, getting stuck in the swamp, accidentally aggro-ing the giant crabs, all that. I'm relived when a Way of Blue dude spawns in to help me, only for me to realize that... HE'S AFK! So the invader just starts hacking that guy down as I run through the swarm of pike hollows in the swamp. And then a SECOND INVADER spawns in. I'm truly running for my life at this point. I make it to the boss arena and... there's a fog wall. And my souls are on the other side of the fog wall.

I die.

Thats just a drop in the bucket.

The only one where losing Souls actually matters in any way is Dark Souls 2.

If it makes you feel any better, that was part of a learning experience and so it's not a total loss. You got something out of it.

And later, that is a paltry amount. In Dark Souls I lost 60,000 souls once towards the end of the game, and it hurt way less than when I lost 1500 souls at the start of the game.

4500 really is rookie numbers but man if you're newish at the game it freakin' stings. You just gotta pick back up and keep it moving.

Yeah, same.

I started competing with myself to see how many souls I could hold on to before dying. It went from an innocent Oh, Ive got 75,000, I wonder if I can hang on to it and eventually devolved to Maybe I should turn in this 1,500,000 before I lose it all like last time.

I exited a cave the other day when I had 22k and the next part looked daunting. Pussed out.

I lost well over 200k once but at that point I didn't care, I was such a high level and in NG++ that I could farm that in an afternoon if I really wanted.

But being a low level and losing that much does hurt, had that happen many times when I first started playing.

Yeah that is a tiny amount. It is easy to lose much more then that after a boss encounter if you are unlucky.

4500 is literally nothing considering you can farm that amount in merely an hour fighting skeleton dudes.

Lost like 200k once in DS3, that fucking sucked.

Yeah I know it's relatively small, but it was a new run with a new character, and I made a freaking bonehead move right after I beat the Phalanax and lost them when I could've used them to double my levels.
