Thats a lie.

Nobody is saying that 6/1 was just as or more "tragic" than 9/11. Obviously the amount of lives lost are not comparable.

The comparison being made is that they were both devastating attacks on our country. While there wasnt that much loss of life on 6/1 its the fact that Republicans are ready to violently overthrow democracy that makes 6/1 so consequential.

I've seen (including right here on GameFAQs) some particularly far-left types actually making this claim, but anyone who thinks it's an overall claim that the Democrats / liberals / whatever make, rather than something a few utter crazies have claimed, is deluding themself.

foreign enemies are expected to attack. 9/11 was worse, but it was easier to accept.
domestic enemies are expected to fail. 1/6 was worse, because it exposed just how deep the rot goes in this country, and just how vulnerable we actually are. and worse, how the lack of any sort of consequences this time will only encourage it to happen again and again, until they either win or are actually dealt with.

edit: I'm not a Dem, though. so don't use my position against anyone else by me.
