THREE.

Medical, Legal, Engineering

If employers are looking for people to hire, and they are not in one of these three fields, its not something that requires a degree, I really wish employers would stop asking for one, hell I make more money now than a lot of people with Masters degrees

Education

Sometimes, a degree helps, but its not really needed, I know enough about history I could teach a graduate level history course and I wouldnt even need to open the book

Technically, accounting requires so many credit hours to take the CPA exam. In Missouri, you have to have 150 credit hours to sit for it. At the school I went to, that was a 5-year program that you received a Master's Degree for.

I think highschool teachers need a masters. (subject is irrelevant). And college professors need at least a masters, preferably a PhD, in the field they teach.

You forget politician. You need to have a a PHD to be a politician, that's why so many of them are voicing their distrust in everything science.

You don't need a master's to be a highschool teacher in most of the US and a lot of them get their master's during their teaching career as part of a non-full time program.

Also as far as degree requirements, there are generally no legal requirements that college professors have advanced/any degrees, which is the argument I think TC is trying to make. I've actually had multiple professors throughout my life without advanced degrees, but it was always like someone who had a professional career in (creative writing, violin performance, things like that).

You do need a bachelors though and every state requires continuous education which usually ends up with teachers getting their masters. Regardless it still requires a degree.

Engineering doesn't require a degree. They give you homework to do. If you can do it, then they hire you. A degree doesn't determine whether or not someone can code.

Nope. My highschool had teachers who were 21 years old with associates degree from the community college. Depends on your district and how well off the surrounding areas are.

But even a nurse's aid needs an associate's. Unless you're talking janitor or security or HR, you know, not medical jobs.

University in general is pointless. If your employer would just tell you what you needed to know in order to work for them you can learn all of it off youtube for free...then your position becomes a matter of how passionate you are about the field. The real problem is that employers do not want to give people chances and for example tell them right off the bat what they will be taking home, that they will have vacation days and paid sick days, that they will also give them severance, health insurance and a retirement option through them...the reason they do not do this is because they know people NEED to work in order to make money in order to survive so they squeeze as much labor out of you without giving you anything except a paycheck in return. This is the problem with working in general, that the employer typically extorts the employee out of their labor. There should be laws preventing this from happening and there probably are, but most people who are extorted by an employer do not have time to get involved with court proceedings and such so the employer is held accountable usually via a class action lawsuit after they screw over as many people as they can, and typically they can easily afford the cost of this due to how much they extorted the public.
