I don't think it's been quite that long for me, maybe 10.

Two Fridays ago when I sprayed a hornets nest and one (at least I only saw one before running) came after me. Pretty sure I tapped the speed force on that one.

Oh no no no, I would've hired a pro to take care of that nest.

I used to shoplift a long, long time ago. I was homeless and that was my hustle.

Anyway, I came out of a store one day and loss prevention had me (don't boost high) but instead of a, "Aw, shucks. You got me." moment, I ran.

As soon as I bolted, "He's running!" and I could hear feet behind me. I used to say, "God loves a booster" because it seemed so unreal to me that I could get away almost all the time and sometimes it almost seemed divine. Like this time.

The only direction I could run that day was right toward the main road ahead of me, which was a main city artery with 4 lanes of traffic. I was going as fast as I could and without slowing my gait, ran right into the middle of that artery and I shit you not, a perfect parting in traffic opened and then closed behind me.

On the other side was a parking lot for another store with a fence running along one side of the parking lot. A ran toward the fence, but by that point, I was absolutely stuck in my forward momentum where my upper body was leading the charge rather than my legs and *bam* ass and heels up in the air as my upper body slammed to the parking lot. Stupidly, I put my hands out, so they turned into raw hamburger, but I rolled to my feet and cleared the fence.

It wasn't long after that that I had a life changing event...basically, the stress of 3 felonies a week got to the point that I'd wake up in panic attacks. It was just too much. Last judge I saw said she didn't care if it was a candy bar, next time I was in court, I'd be going to prison shortly thereafter. Fortunately, there was a shelter that offered a drug treatment / missionary program, which changed my life.

I did sometime this year, but I really don't like to do it much. Ever since I had a head injury in 03, I am not as balanced as I used to be and I worry about falling when I run full speed.

Thanks. Me too. I was out there, lost in the wilderness, completely out of my mind for 3 years. It sucked. For sure. All these years later I still hate the cold, wind, rain and dark. Give me June at the west coast forever now.
