I hope this doesn't turn people against Kefka, just because one jackass decided to jump on him after he was banned. I don't recall Moonroof ever supporting Kefka prior to that.

I originally waffled on counting RedLeafFan saves to begin with, but someone pointed out to me that his posting style resembled Moonroof's in his Metroid Dread topic today, so I checked into it.

Among other things, the Sunroof account's last visit is less than 20 minutes before RedLeafFan's first post, and Moonroof's last visit time today was less than 10 minutes before the Kefka save.

Part of the reason I had him so high was because I was going to jump over once Jessie inevitably went out as he was the most FUN character left. So this wasn't a very fun end of day for me.

Man, I hate that it still hits me when my main goes out, I thought I would be numb to it after last year. I sacrificed Rinoa and Tidus for an 18th place finish :/

It's weird, I had this knot in my stomach all round that I haven't had before either. I must've known on some level!

Worst thing is that my main dying last year just killed any interest I had in the rest of the contest, and there's still over two weeks to go this time. Hopefully I'll get over it quicker this time!

I was thinking about your Ghido run the other day to my rookie run, granted this is your "sophomore" year but in my first year Cissnei made it to 17th and I know what you mean about having that feeling. Contest Grim Reaper closing in. Last year too, though Day 97 is easier to read which way the wind is blowing than Day 80-something.

But there were like, 3 or 4 other people trading for Cissnei with me whereas Ghido was really all you (and a little help from here and there). pj's right, it was legitimately a great run!!

Didnt redleaffan make a topic recently where he said he was an alt of an old user named Mapleleaf?

That seems weird to do if you are secretly a Moonroof alt.

Yeah I know it's a good run and it's silly feeling sorry for myself/annoyed at myself over a turtle!

I just wanted to leave some kinda mark on the contest, that's why I wanted to pick someone new. Like in the 40s or so when Galuf looked super weak, I thought the idea of Ghido being last V standing would be really cool in itself. Like every year he'd be a fun stats note to mention whenever V went down to one.

Like you said it's still good though, and lots of people have had worse luck than me. The self-pity is annoying I know!

Thanks a lot to everyone who helped Ghido over the contest- Raiden, bubu, the Galuf/Ktjn savers recently, and of course especially Nick. Nick who only started to save because I happened to be in the right place at the right time, and remained loyal throughout. Thank you!

That doesn't mean Moonroof isn't an alt in of itself. Like he could have legitimately made that account way back then (which is why only he remembers it), but it could still the same person in the end.

Nah everyone has the right to mourn when their main goes out. It shows you care! There's nothing annoying or self-pitying about that, and there's what, 70-something of us that participate in this? Whole lot of heartache inbound over the next two weeks on top of what's already taken place.

In the end there's only like, 2 or 3 users who "really" win and the rest will conclude with varying levels of satisfaction or disappointment.

In your case, you're a prime user, quick enough at the start to get 3 saves and quick enough at the end to land killing snipes... think of the power you wield at this point, you can be a kingmaker!

I don't think there's anything wrong with feeling sad, andy! I know it seems odd to admit you care about an internet contest, but things don't need to be big and important for us to care about them. There'd be no point in participating if we didn't care a little bit, after all.

I was sad to lose Leblanc around this time last year, and Lightning the year she got lawyered I even said some nasty things I hope no one remembers. I'll be sad when Yuna or Rikku eventually goes out. Just try to focus on the fun parts, you got Ghido to the top 20! That's pretty neat.

Thanks for being such a reliable trade partner, too. You're an honorary part of the YRP run for that alone.

Martin I like you and thanks for the kind words but we have entirely opposing tastes in FF characters, there is zero chance of me joining team Sephiroth I am afraid! I really am not a 'villain' guy when it comes to FF. I wish you luck with your penance run... but not Sephiroth >_>

This is a good way of thinking about it thanks, though honestly for the most part I don't think SMFFFC was taking up too much of my time this year. Being on discord really helps me not care about constantly checking the board for the round starts. I had noticed recently that it was taking up much more of my headspace though, and as I said earlier I was feeling off all round today. I think I'm not cut out for the last few weeks of these contests!

And really I don't think it would've bothered me too much if Ghido went out in the 30s, it's just the feeling of wasted potential. Like I know he could've gone 5 more rounds or so at least. Not that that would even change anything.

You can still have fun joining a run now, this is when it matters most! I joined Dagger after Leblanc last year and it was fun getting her to a respectable third.

This isn't just me trying to coerce you to Yuna, either. I figured you'd go to Galuf if Ghido went out, so any YRP support will be a nice surprise!
