Yes, rating this is almost all about how much value you give to the comedy that comes from the dialog translation. I'd say it provides more entertainment value than a lot of game stories.

The way this story is told - which can generously be described as minimalist -is the right choice for this genre. I do wish there was more in the second half.

This isn't comparable to those games. Tetris has no story. Mario 1's story is just there to provide the context of the quest. It isn't trying to tell a real story. SotN is.

I like trying to rate minimal stories because you actually have to put some thought into how it's told.
