Maybe if you are just first starting. Once you are regular with it, typically it wears down after 2-3 hours with no aftermath.

You must be smoking some really good or really bad pot if it's having any impact on you the next day.

If you smoke weed before you sleep, your metabolism slowing down during sleep basically has it kicking around in your system for a lot longer and you might wake up the next morning feeling extra tired.

Everyone has different reactions to different things. If it makes you feel shitty maybe it's time to step away from it. Might be allergic to it?

Its a chemical imbalance of the brain.

Basically your brain naturally releases doepmine, the chemical in the brain that makes us happy.

When if you smoke pot regularly, this will artificially release dopemine. What this tells your brain is that, it no longer has to naturally release dopemine at its natural rate because you are doing it for it.

So for example, a pot smoker may have to smoke, just to get to a level of feeling normal and then even more to "feel good", and then more to "feel great", etc.

I smoked every day for years and this is why I quit. I just hated having to smoke just to not feel depressed, where as now I feel better on average without smoking. I will smoke every once in a awhile, but basically I treat it in the same way I would alcohol.

Depends on quantity, strength and timing. It's possible, it's not definite.

This is because thc disrupts your REM sleep cycle, the deep sleep portion of our nights rest.
Which is why a lot of potheads sleep 12 hours. I know I would whenever I could and my friends did too.

i've never known anyone who smokes weed to sleep any longer than your average person, and certainly not 12 hours. i've been smoking for about 15 years and i've never slept for 12 hours straight.

I definitely sleep longer when I've been smoking, though on the order of maybe an extra hour, not nearly double. And I should note that even when I have been, I still sleep slightly less than the average person (usually about 7 hours).

Everybodys different, but I certainly can attest to sleeping 10 and 12 hours when I was regular and so did my other friends who used daily (when they didnt have to get up).

Weed blocks a lot of REM sleep. That's why it's prescribed to people with night terrors, because those occur during REM. REM is also when you accrue most of the benefits from sleeping. So consistently smoking weed reduces the effectiveness of sleep, although how much that affects you varies by person. Increasing your metabolism a lot can counter that, but also takes a lot of effort.
