Even Sony with their "re-release and you have to buy it again every generation" (at least for PS3 and PS4) at least let you buy it outright. As much as I'm a Sony fan rather than MS, I'll admit that MS have done the best of all here with actual backwards compatibility (and indeed, I'm very much considering jumping ship for a generation since that grants me basically the entire Xbox library, not just this generation).
