Only time you need to worry about papers getting eaten is if you have a ton of them around. They're mostly scavengers who stay out of sight most of the time. Like DeathSong said, just ignore it or put it outside. Machete 10/16/21 5:22:51 PM #21:	dolomedes posted... oh yeah i guess people handle the big scolopendromorphs in the pet trade. err, i wouldn't, if you happen to get 'bit' it's not ideal XD all the ones i ever find are fast as heck there are giant millipedes, i think all in the southern hemisphere. idk about marsupials getting a buzz, but i believe it. millipedes can't bite or sting, so their only offense is a good defense - crazy chemicals that ought to deter predators from eating them. the beautifully-colored xystodesmids you can often encounter on trails in the southeast will leave your hands smelling pleasant if you handle them. kind of a sweet cherry/almond aroma. it's from the cyanide compounds in their secretions - yum!! also they fluoresce under blacklight <3 Yeah it was secretion based. The marsupials (I think they were. I could be wrong and they could be some other type of animal that looks marsupial. Not sure) would mess with them and then rub them all over their fur. I think it was also to build tolerance or for their own protection.
