A lot of people think standing to pee is manly. There's nothing manly about peeing. Women pee, kids pee, babies pee. You have some very misguided ideas of manhood if you think standing to pee is manly or something.

Being manly has nothing to do with preferring pee splash on your legs and feet. Being unhygienic is not manly. It's just plain gross.

I have never seen a seat cover in a NYC public restroom.

In Tokyo, they have hand sanitizer and you can use it to wipe the seat but there are no seat covers.
