that no one will just grab it

some restaurants even leave the shelves out of eyesight of the workers

and if they are in eyesight of the workers, the name is written right on the bag. you can just read it and say "yeah i'm edward, that's my order". i thought they'd ask for ID or proof of purchase, but 95% of the time they just hand you the bag lol

(note, i don't steal these to go orders, just saying it would be insanely easy)

Also, pretty much everywhere I've seen in my area that has a setup where customers can see the waiting orders, you pay when they hand it to you. So it's not like people could just steal an order. They'd still be paying for it, even if they're not the ones who ordered it.

I'm referring to online order pick ups

People do in fact steal that food on a fairly regular basis. I'm sure places like Chipotle probably have to remake at least 2-3 daily

People steal packages off porches, I don't doubt that food is stolen as well.

My girlfriend's sister said some lady came into Starbucks and took a venti cup off the counter with her bare hands and walked out. A minute or two later, she returned and placed the cup down to pick up a grande (much smaller).

At chipotle with online orders you walk in look for your name on the bag, take it and leave no questions asked it surprises me thieves dont leave with multiple bags, im surprised an employee doesnt check iss and pass out the bags

I remember doing online order twice at a chipotle near my house

first time the shelf was placed near the entrance so people could walk in and out pretty inconspicuously, and my order wasn't there since I assume someone else took it, so I had to wait for them to remake it after I told them and an employee came over to inspect

the second time I noticed that the shelf had been moved closer to the register but there was still no one to double check that you're taking the right bag, the shelf just happens next to the cashier now because I guess they probably got enough complaints and decided to do something about it

still pointless if they don't double check
