Man it's like they're just trying to make a Bebop reskin of Scott Pilgrim. They're doing Joss Whedonish MCU-style banter while jumping around between comic book panels (when it's not even based on a comic) and breaking the fourth wall. It's trying really hard to stylize itself like some zanny live-action cartoon, more so than the actual cartoon its based on.
