Saw this quote the other day about how a company went from "a team with 30% women to 100% women, that's diversity!"
It's one thing for programs to promote local diverse groups, it's another to try so hard to tick the boxes that you lose the point entirely.

Can't deny this thought wasn't sitting in the back of my head.

From what I can get from the article all I can conclude is... we don't have enough information to determine the exact circumstances of this and whether this was a just outcome.

Like I'm not seeing presented evidence or testimony in the article that backs up his claims. All I'm seeing is "the plaintiff successfully argued that it was wrongful termination".

On the other hand, a jury of his peers ruled in his favor.

Im not gonna say that what happened here is even close to justified, but I just read a few posts here talking about hiring the best people for the job.

One of the precepts for diversity is that differing backgrounds can be more valuable, its natural that those in a less diverse situation would continue to hire those that fit the previously established best mold. But hiring practices some have implemented believe that going outside the best mold may be more valuable.

At least, this is what I remember from reading through documents for a class, I might not be conveying the point fully. This isnt an attempt to argue or anything, I just wanted to point out what those who strive for diversity are going for, I believe.

If they wanted more diversity, then the higher ups should have taken a pay cut to create two Ned jobs. Dont fire someone for no doing nothing wrong.
