There's no point in watching if the "You can't call the people who Rittenhouse shot dead 'victims!'" judge is deciding things. He's going to get off, white supremacists are going to celebrate, etc.

Can you call a murderer a murderer during a murder trial?

Legit question, not trying to be 'that guy'

The verdict, yeah. But the judge determines the sentence, and can order the jury to ignore potential evidence under certain circumstances, as well as having a bunch of other powers.

Im far from being an expert in US law, so I Will take your word for It. However I did see the video several times from several angles and the situation was absolute chaos, there were at least 3 other indivuals with firearms on the scene and it seems the confusion began when someone stupid thought It would be a good Idea to fire warning shots into the air, and It seems Kyle was mistaken for said person(dude was walking around with an ar 15 afterall) and was attacked because of it. One of the guys Kyle shot was charging at him with a .380 pistol, the other attacked him with a skateboard from behind.

Pretty fucking Crazy, I blame the police more than anyone else i guess for having allowed the situation escalate to warzone status. But then again, If the police is deemed to be overreacting they get called racists.

So this kid just established that not only did Rittenhouse illegally purchase a firearm by using him as a proxy, but the gun wasn't in his name when Rittenhouse was carrying it around.

So how many of you actually watched the footage?

It seemed pretty cut and dry that he only shot people who were chasing him down and trying to beat him to death. Never does he indiscriminately just kill people for the heck of it, every person he shot was in self defense.

Also people will disagree with me on this but the world is better off without the people who died. They all were criminals and one guy actually had around 20 counts of child molestation, including the rape of a 12 year old boy. (trigger warning)

Well first off he didnt just walk up to them and shoot them, he shot back as they chased him through the streets at night trying to kill him.

Secondly, you have proof he associated with white supremacists? Yeah sure the world would be better off without them but its as though he committed a hate crime.

Rittenhouse shot someone for throwing a plastic bag at him. Naturally, others wanted to stop the crazed gunman.

And there's evidence he hung out with the Proud Boys. This is a well know fact. As for commiting a race crime? You don't need to hang a black person to be a white supremacist.

Course the fact he was looking for blood during a police brutality protest...

Another post from the Politics board topic:

"We heard another car lot was being burnt down, so Kyle ran off to head there."

So at this point, Rittenhouse was no longer playing security guard, and was now playing vigilante. With a loaded gun.

Sounds like he went looking for trouble again. Weird pattern.

Other more experienced CoD LARPers were there, actual adults who probably could've handled the situation better. Why didn't one of them check it out instead?

He was never "defending himself against armed attackers".

As soon as he asked someone else to buy him a gun he had no right to own he's no longer "defending himself against armed attackers".

As soon as he took that gun to another town in another state he's no longer "defending himself against armed attackers".

As soon as he pulls that gun out, carrying it around in the middle of a riot where he has no business whatsoever he's no longer "defending himself against armed attackers".

The moment he did ANY of those things he's a criminal and everything he's doing while he's doing ANY of those things is compounding his crimes. Certainly murdering people included.

Sorry but yes, transporting a gun you have illegally in your possession to another state is itself a crime.

Too bad I'm not saying that being a criminal negates your right to self defense, am I? It depends on the crime and the killing, it depends on the link between them. In this case the killing was the whole purpose of the crime. The reason why piggie broke all those laws was precisely so that he could kill those people. He's a mass killer. There would have been no difference whatsoever if he had just started roaming and shooting indiscriminately. He's a vigilante on the prowl. That's his crime.

The murders are just the natural consequence. You're not defending yourself when your crime is PRECISELY people-hunting.

I ask you to buy me a gun illegally. I take it to another town to go to a riot. What do you think is going to happen, exactly? What do you think I'm expecting to do with that gun? Ooh, just scare people away with it? I'm going there to "defend myself"? I'm going there to "protect" something as if I was police? Are you really that naive, to be nice and not call you stupid??

This case is the perfect example of the internet making everybody dumber and how those who are always crying about the right believing BS, and making up fake facts, don't hold themselves to the same standard.

Like people are straight up lying about what happened or making shit up.

-Rosenbaum was starting fires and some other guy with a gun was putting them out. This enraged Rosenbaum and he mistook Rittenhouse as the other guy because he was running over to put out a fire. He and others then attacked Rittenhouse.

-When the bag was thrown, 2 seperate gunshots went off, one from presumably Rosenbaum's friend and another unknown one. It wasn't just a bag.

-He crossed state lines because he lives on the fucking state line, which is only 20 miles from Kenosha.

-The judge is not biased or whatever nonsense some of the geniuses here are making up. This judge always does this and like said, it's because the purpose of the trial is to determine if it was murder or self defense. It's also to avoid any issues with appeals especially because of the increased media attention.

-The judge has said that the word can't be used during the trial, but if the evidence shows it, they can use it in their closing argument. He has also allowed the prosecution to call Rittenhouse a "cold blooded killer" if the evidence supports it in the closing argument.

Regardless of all of that, outside gun charges, Rittenhouse is most likely walking. And it's not because of some conspiracy or bias. This is pretty open-shut. He was attacked unprovoked and only shot when he was corned. Just because you can't understand how the law works, doesn't mean you he should be convicted. No, having the illegal gun doesn't throw out self-defense. Not even the prosecution is arguing that.

Like, this isn't Naruto, and he wasn't going to just teleport away. Allowing something this flimsy would hurt everybody.

He's a piece of shit MAGA and shouldn't have been there at all, but he was and that doesn't mean you get to just attack someone, especially in an open carry state, and they can't defend themselves.
