i let all these somber think-pieces by NYT where they interview people at midwestern truck-stops fool me into thinking there's something i'm missing

there isn't

they're just bigoted or, at best, extremely fragile and thus feel victimized by the existence of """woke""" stuff, which can be as minor as a black character on a tv show

There's quite a few single issue voters. Like they don't care about any other atrocity in the entire world except for their views on abortion. They just ignore every single other problem. Must be nice

Republicans are generally Republicans because the community they interact with primarily is Republican. Their information input is slanted that way. It's the same way you guys consume all these anti-Republican shit and take it as reality.

I'm a minority, and Republicans in my daily life have treated me fine. Not every Republican is KKK, fascist, or whatever dumb label you guys have.

Only the rich get low taxes if you vote R. They want to ban free speech, just look at trump's social media sites. The border wall is so shitty a light rain will knock it down. Guns everywhere. Government is telling you what you can do with your body.

You really think these guys who treat you well go to the poll office, see two boxes?

1) strip KhlavicLanguage of his rights
2)don't strip him of his rights

And they're like oh yeah, option 1. Definitely 1. I'm sure there are some assholes out there, but a lot of these people just have a different perspective on these things. They don't actually think the thing they're voting on is racist. Like the whole border thing for instance. A lot of them just think people should come here "legally."

Blues states have the highest income taxes, most restrictive nonsensical gun laws (some blue cities basically don't have the 2A yet there are guns and gang violence everywhere), Democrats want corporations to ban, censor or deplatform any speech they don't like, and they they're the ones forcing mandates on people under the threat of losing their jobs. Dems don't care about the border crisis at all. There are two types of people in the world. People who want to be left the fuck alone and people who want to control them. I'm the former.
