The camera isn't very good at all, some of the platforming is pretty bad, some of the worlds are really annoying and the AI can be dumb at times. I tried to replay it a couple years ago and gave up after a few levels. I decided to play KH2 instead which plays much better. --- There are a ton of misconceptions about recycling. Being unable to dodge or block without equipping it is still a stupid gameplay choice in my mind. Neither was platforming ever a issue to me either. Hell if certain jumps for you were that hard then just come back later when you obtain high jump and or glide. The AI was bad but you can customize it to a pretty good degree, plus the spell pool in KH1 was pretty good so Donald was semi useful. Honestly I find Monstro much worse than Deep Jungle so I dunno why that's the one people pick on.
