What's really crazy about this is that nearly everything related to the misinformation regarding ivermectin stems directly out of this one study. With the adjusted numbers, it actually shows the Ivermectin group had significantly higher mortality than the traditional treatment group. And that is serious as hell.

It actually can't be overstated how serious this is. This one paper was the catalyst for an entire political party's deliberate attempt to undermine public health efforts by implying that we were trying to bury this.

The fact that the retraction isn't being immediately blasted on Fox News and through conservative circles is truly proof that they are deliberately disingenuous.

There's a lot of money and influence to be had in convincing people who don't know a goddamn thing but really want to be special and claim secret knowledge that the sheeple don't have. These people don't want to actually work to gain expertise and contribute to human knowledge, they just want something different than what other people are getting or what they're told to do.

Those people suck, but the people who deliberately take advantage of that flaw in our brains/culture should be thrown into the sun. But instead we have entire news networks, political parties, and media empires dedicated to it.

This guy and the FLCCC should have examples made out of them so people think twice about whether grifting a life or death issue is worth it or not.

retractions need to be an order of magnitude greater than the original claim. for every day a story runs in a paper or on a website, the retraction must run for 10 days. for every minute spent talking about it on tv or an online video, ten minutes of coverage must be aired. edit: and they must be at least as prominent as the originals. no running 10 hours of bullshit in primetime, and burying the retractions at 3-6am for a month.

i don't care if it's on purpose or just carelessness, either. do your damned research, or pay for your fucking mistakes.
