At 2:15 the Lizard is clearing jumping at a different character so the other Spider-Mans (Spider-Men?) have been edited out of some scenes. Wouldn't be the first time Marvel shows edited scenes in trailers.

I forgot if Erik Killmonger is dead canonically. If not we obviously need him, Electro, and Captain Marvel to meet for the sake of a Just Mercy reunion. I mean, that movie's director already helmed Shang-Chi!

Not to retread old ground, but I honestly think Brie Larson was well-cast as Captain Marvel so far and that she just hasn't been given much to do. I was able to buy her as a superhero pretty quickly.

As a reader of the comics, I predisposed to hate anything One More Day/OMIT related though. I also don't really have any nostalgic love for the old Sony films

Yeah, I thought after seeing Homecoming for the first time that Tom Holland could easily be in 8 Spidey movies the way it went. Felt like a good choice for a full franchise.

Seems like they're ramping it up to 11 for the third entry which just feels like they have to get out everything they can before his contract is up or something. I don't need the stakes that high for a Spidey movie at the top of phase 4. Give me Peter in hiding after having his identity revealed and still needing to protect people, friends, and family from like, Mac Gargan who now knows his identity and I think Shocker was in Homecoming too?

i don't think the idea is lame but they could definitely screw it up. then again, i'm not madly in love with this tom holland series anyway. the movies so far have been fine but yeah.

spider-man 2 still the best one imo (well, into the spider-verse if we're counting the non-live action ones).

yeah that was my biggest takeaway leaving the theatres, ending up really impressed with the handling of such a large cast of characters which is probably the strongest point I had doubts for the movie in the months leading up to it

Reed Richards... maybe? I dunno, in my mind the character is a stodgy old white guy. I know they're going to want to go a bit younger, but race-switching Reed feels like a stretch to me (pun unintended, but awesome).

Deathlok I considered but I find it very problematic. His name is probably too similar to Deadshot, for one. Also, while Deathlok has more cybernetics... the red suit, the gun, the thing over the eye... If there are people that can't tell Smith and Elba were playing different characters they're not going to know that Smith is playing two different characters if he got the role. There are even some people don't know why Superman doesn't show up to help Iron Man, Will Smith playing Deathlok would really muddy up the branding.

Actually, thinking about it, if they were going to race-switch a character why not Professor X? They'd obviously have to change his backstory, but WW2 was so long ago that doing so is going to be necessary anyway. Age him up just a bit and perhaps he could pass as having been a child during the civil rights movement, still a kid when Johnson signed the CRA(s) but old enough to have seen much of the struggle.

I watched Shang-Chi. There were aspects of the movie I enjoyed but overall I wasn't too keen on it. Felt like it never really got going until the heroes got to the sacred area or whatever it was meant to be.

wonder Man was the thought I had too, but I dunno that its a big enough deal for him unless Marvel decides they really want to push Wonder Man for some reason

While Magneto could be a better fit for Will Smith the fact is he has never played the antagonist. Deadshot is probably the most villainous role he's ever played and even then he was the protagonist. Even as a misunderstood villain, Magneto is off-brand for Will Smith.

He might be tired of being the moral center, but he's not tired of being the center of the spotlight. In spite of what the foX-Men movies might have tried to pull off, Magneto is not the center of their narrative (nor is Prof X, though he's closer). If he gets the role, cool, but it doesn't fit in with the choices he's made throughout his entire career.
