That could just as easily be some space leather under the actual armor pieces. Both of these can contribute to a Thanos snap being physically possible. This is something we should get the Mythbusters onto if they were still around. He does give an oddly specific number while calculating the chances the heroes have of beating him but nothing for the people he killed.
