Literally every "comedy podcast" is terrible, just horrible.

Patton Oswalt is good. But his Twitter is annoying as all hell. He's one of those guys that got his brain fried by the Trump presidency.

Bert Kreischer is one of those guys that I liked but over time grew tired of his schtick. His personality is revolting. Dude's like 50 and thinks his party antics are cool lmao. I liked his special before his last one but that's it for me.

Most of those LA people are douchey when they lean into their "gimmick". Bill Burr still comes off endearing with his schtick as a disgruntled old guy. But most of the LA podcast world is a clout-chasing circlejerk grift machine.

Tim Dillon is the man and he elevates any podcast that he's on. Not surprisingly, an east coaster. They're nearly always funnier than the LA guys. I happened to see him live in Montreal back in 2016 when he was featured on one of the comedy shows up there that I was at. Dude is sick.

He's sort of like if Rogan didn't have jokes fly over his head and also knew how to riff with funny people.

Stand up comedy is really really hard, I try not to judge anyone too harshly. Ones I probably dislike the most are women who just talk about sex and women parts. I can't relate to that at all.

I've heard enough people say that Cosby is GOAT tier (or near it) enough to say *shrug*, I guess they're onto something. Especially before his allegations came out. Never seen any material of his. A lot of that list is correct enough I guess. Don't really have a solid grasp on most of it. But my rule of thumb is that it probably sucks if it plays for midwest TV audiences and moms.

I liked his stuff when I watched a couple specials a few years ago on Netflix. But even comedy that's considered GOAT for its time has a risk of not being very good for today.

Especially when you look at the old stuff from the 70s, 80s, 90s, it's amazing how much GOAT stuff isn't really that good when you watch it from today's perspective. Watching Burr or CK or dare I say Chappelle is a whole other level compared to 99.9% of old comedy. Andrew Dice Clay was an ARENA ACT just because he told naughty nursery rhymes on HBO. Ok, he was funny if you let your guard down and go with his schtick, but man oh man. This generation we're in now is a comedy boom. Club level guys are better than a lot of the big name guys from back then. Though you do need to give a lot of respect to the old timers who broke down the wall for these newer people.

England is weird because they're their own ecosystem. They got dudes over there that are theater or arena acts and have zero following in the US or Canada.

if you think Jimmy Carr is offensive.... you should see Frankie Boyle on Mock the Week. The guy has literally no filter, makes Carr look like George Carlin on Shining Time Station.
Also, Patten did an entire 8 minute filibuster on Star Wars, which I wish Disney/Marvel had adapted.
