Flannel_Ninja 12/05/21 12:31:55 PM #10:	Some states already have abortion bans in their books. While those laws continue to exist, they can't be upheld due to the SC's ruling on Roe v. Wade. If the SC reverses that ruling, then those existing laws will immediately go into effect again. Just because the SC rules against something doesn't mean existing laws get erased from the books. If it's any consolation, Republican politicians are beholden to corporate interests, not religious dogma. These religious "values" are just a front to maintain support with their (incredibly shortsighted) voter base. If curbing or outright banning any of our freedoms would have a negative impact on corporate America, the GOP won't bother. They've caved to corporate action time and time again. Everybody should absolutely get out and vote, but you can't put your faith in the democratic process alone. You need to put pressure on corporations as well. Make it clear that you plan to boycott businesses that don't affirm our civil liberties. There's a reason the GOP constantly harps on issues like "cancel culture" and boycotts.
