Ganondorf is death itself. Link killing him prevents significantly more death down the road, making the cause just. Moreover, if Link let Ganondorf take the Triforce of Courage and Wisdom, he would be complicit in all of Ganondorf's atrocities. That alone is enough to compel a person to spill blood to save the world. And finally, Ganondorf is an aggressor who takes the Triforce of Wisdom by force a couple of times. And in his rampage to gather the Triforce and bring about the end times, Link and Zelda will be harmed and/or killed. Not to mention, if Ganondorf gets his way, then both Link and Zelda will die as well. By killing Ganondorf, Link prevents him from committing mass murder of all life. Link is compelled to act for his own self interest and the interests of others - he's saving lives that would be lost without Ganondorf's death, which isn't murder. Moreover, refusing to stop Ganondorf and giving him the Triforce of Courage would make him equally complicit in Ganondorf's ending of all life in Hyrule. That in itself would make Link culpable for Ganondorf's crimes, which would indirectly be murder - like giving someone a loaded gun knowing that they're gonna go shoot someone. Link is compelled to act for his own self interest and the interests of others - he's saving lives that would be lost without Ganondorf's death, which isn't murder. Moreover, refusing to stop Ganondorf and giving him the Triforce of Courage would make him equally complicit in Ganondorf's ending of all life in Hyrule. That in itself would make Link culpable for Ganondorf's crimes, which would indirectly be murder - like giving someone a loaded gun knowing that they're gonna go shoot someone. And as Ganondorf takes both of the other Triforce pieces by force, Link is defending himself and Zelda from being murdered, making his actions self-defence - though even if Ganondorf took the Triforce pieces without killing either of them, they're certainly going to die due to his plan to cause a mass extinction event, which alone is a form of self-defense. </quote> ...
