In 27 hours Ive only managed 3 clears, one with Ironclad, Defect, and Watcher. Ive gotten to the last boss 5-6 other times but really only got close to killing it one of those, and it was the one that comes back to life after you kill it the first time

Also you don't have all the cards unlocked most likely

It's hard but I ended up managing to beat ascension 20 on ironclad and silent with no previous card game experience.

Know when to skip elite battles. Sometimes the relic isn't worth losing half your health

It depends.
Prioritize taking less damage.
Upgrading cards is very good.
Powers are good, but there's some duds on the ironclad.
Play around your relics
Abuse your potions, especially to avoid taking lots of damage.

2nd act boss tends to be the hardest part of a run.

I got all the achievements and still feel like I never "got" the Defect.

yeah I definitely have the most trouble with the act 2 boss. I guess I just have to be more patient because sometimes I do make dumb mistakes and take too much damage. I had the same problem in hearthstone >_>

The run I cleared it I just spammed lightning orbs with the powers that make it so their passive hits all enemies and happens at the beginning of your turn too. Sometimes I was getting 18-24 damage per turn just from those.

I also got a rare colorless card from the whale dude and got The Bomb, so act 1 was easy mode

I found the Silent the easiest to get really good with as poison is OP

Also, if dont know, you dont have to take cards when theyre given as rewards. With lower level cards, or cards that you dont need, its often better to skip taking any cards. Coupled with actively selling cards that you dont need anymore, this helps keep your deck trimmed down instead of bloated. This was one of the bigger issues that I had early on.

well I got a clear with Silent too, probably the easiest run I've had so far. swapped my starting relic for a random boss one at the beginning and got golden pyramid, then just put in a bunch of poison and block cards

Remove strikes

know what cards your deck needs instead of just adding haphazardly

be aggressive when going after relics and elites, but know when youre gonna get clapped and should avoid them

You're still at the lower ascensions, the game gets even harder. I've put 1100 hours into it and have like a 15% win rate, varying a few percent by character.
