Yeah, the main difference between those two opinions is that what Guide posted is actually true lol
Case in point. You brush off the negative news coverage about your own party because it's better not to focus on fringe cases and exceptions. All of the things I chose as examples have happened at least once.

At worst, it's an exaggeration of the truth, but none of those things are lies.

No. Election fraud and "encouraging racism against white people" are flat out lies. They aren't exaggerations. They are fucking lies.

Because it is like saying the a Galactic Republic and the Galactic Empire both have issues. It is a true statement. But if your response to the Death Star blowing up Alderaan is "the Republic also had issues" then you clearly aren't arguing in good faith.

I never said anything about election fraud. You're thinking of somebody else.

And it's difficult to say that there's no encouragement of racism against white people when "white fragility" is one of the major buzzwords of the day. That's without touching on another phrase that's been making the rounds as well: "there is no such thing as white culture"

Recently, a BLM-labeled website launched with the goal of "boycotting white owned businesses"

Look, these aren't hills I'm willing to die on, but it's disingenuous to say that the notions don't exist.

Literally the person you quoted and I quoted again because you responded to him.

No it isn't, because it's flat out not fucking true.

Also, you're ignoring the part where the person you were responding to said ELECTING people who do that shit. BLM is barely even an organization, let alone elected officials.

You're just proving this topic correct, in that while there are "issues" on "both sides" one is the clear and obvious choice for who is worse.

Specifically, its a fallacy called false equivalence - both sides do have issues, but those issues are not equally bad and do not deserve equal criticism.

You keep conflating what Guide said with what I said. He's referring to election fraud as one of the examples, and I'm not suggesting in any way that election fraud actually occurred.

Just to be clear, so we're on the same page:

I do not believe there was any significant fraud in the 2020 election

Further, he's talking about elected officials, while I'm talking about the perception those on the right have of the average left-leaning voter. Not just elected officials.

The examples I listed are not the kind I would use as the basis for my own argument, as I know they're mostly fringe cases and not official party platforms... but there is plenty of evidence that those things occur. A party is more than just the elected officials; the behavior of its voters reflects substantially on the party's reputation.

In America a centrist is right wing seeing as the democrats are a right wing party add the republicans are a far right wing party. The center of that is a right wing person who is just less extreme than a republican.

Honestly there's a reasons why some people stereotype the left despite me being definitely on the left as "Everyone who disagree with me is a nazi" and that meme is an excellent example of it. Believe it or not, some people can support Black lives matters and be against generalisation against every single cop that exists. Shocking I know.
