Chambered rounds seem to be the cause for a lot of accidents. People think they empty the clip and everything is fine but they had already chambered a round. Why are you chambering anything if you dont intend to shoot?

its just asinine to me that this country is ok with such a powerful tool being treated so loosely by some.

This... I'm actually perplexed so many CEmen are here just going along with the story. Have any of you guys even seen a 1 year old walk around? They can barely pick up a ball or building block, and definitely can't pick up a gun, let alone pull the trigger.

We need to get tough on babies, thats the only way to stop tragedies like this. Life in prison

Seriously...even if the baby picked it up, what are the odds of him pointing it at the dad? You would have to somehow hold it with one hand and then pull the trigger with the other, there's no way a baby is picking up a gun with one hand and pulling the trigger tii

Terrible news and just unfortunate but this is the exact reason I don't keep a gun, even though I really want one. When the kids are teenagers and they can understand gun safety, I'll probably get one. Its just a fact that having a gun in the house significantly increases the risk of a child or adult in the household getting shot and killed.

They dont have to pick it up and point it. Simply playing with it while its on a table they could easily pull the trigger. If it happens to already be facing someone theyre fucked. Have you ever tried to take something out of an infants hand? They got a strong grip, man.

When that kid is older they are going to know they killed their father.

It's been a very long time since I held a gun, so I don't remember exactly how heavy they are, but I feel like my 15 month old daughter could easily shoot a gun.
