No one is popping champagne.

Theres a difference between being happy someone died and being indifferent someone died. People are being indifferent of people dying when the people dying had multiple opportunities to protect themselves and they actively said fuck that.

I got modded for saying this albeit in a more angry tone. Basically said it makes you an evil person, probably more warranting of death, if you find orgasmic joy in an anti-vaxers death.

Wishing for death and pain upon another person, and taking joy in the grief placed upon their families makes you a bad person.

I'd argue that one of these groups is driven by ignorance, stubbornness, or fear, which leads them not to trust the doctors and spokespeople. Vaccine skeptics are frustrating, but I can understand why they think the way they think, even though I know their way of thinking is flawed.

Yes, anti-vaxxers are wrong and they pose a risk to themselves and others, but I don't think it makes them bad people.

On the other hand, those who mock their deaths are doing so with a sense of smug self-righteousness, and the intent is to belittle and make entertainment out of the victims of Covid-19.

The latter people are much, much more offensive to my sensibilities.

There are literally people popping champagne and taking joy in it. It is a minority (or at least Id like to think so) but its still large enough to be disturbing/troublesome as all fuck.

Listen: you're not going to find me posting memes or "spiking the football" in topics about this. I genuinely believe it to be a tragedy when someone dies because people they trusted filled their heads with bullshit. When you read about the Jonestown Massacre, you shouldn't take the stance that the kool-aid drinkers had it coming.

But I think a lot of the folks in this topic are being highly disingenuous (as is par for the course for many of them) and are not nearly as committed to respecting life as they would have you believe.

You know what else is black and white? Getting vaccinated and not making decisions that put millions of people at risk and killing them.
