with the route Kojima has been going with his games for a long while, I feel like I could do without a new Metal Gear, tbh.

however, if another talented developer wanted to take their hand in contributing to the Metal Gear universe, like with Rising, I'd be cool with that.

Metal Gear Solid 6

A billionaire launches a car into space, but actually, it's a plot to set up Ronal Reagan's old "Project Star Wars" and sell it to a small but resourceful Russian terrorist cell. You are Ouroboros Snake (because like the mythical creature, the series will never end, it's called symbolism), and you are sent on a rocket to infiltrate the billionaire's top secret space station and take it down from the inside.

But then it turns out the billionaire is actually a patsy for a satanic cult, who are manipulating him AND the terrorist cell so they can turn the space station into a global neural-network and hand over control of all humanity's consciousness to Beelzebub.

But then it turns out that the billionaire actually doesn't exist, and is really just a handful of grad school kids running a fake Twitter account, manipulating the stock markets to fool corporations to do things.

But then it turns out that one of the corporations they manipulated was a shell company for the American military and they sold the brain-jacking software to Kazakhstan in exchange for subsidies on beluga caviar. The Kazakhstan government, of course, has been infiltrated by the Russians, who were themselves infiltrated by the CIA, who themselves were infiltrated by a former President, who himself has been infiltrated by...

Nano-Gear. The newest threat to humanity are Metal Gears that are so small, they are undetectable in the blood stream, and fire mini-nukes the size of platelettes. The President himself is a walking time-bomb capable of blowing up an entire country. Which is the TRUE goal of the space station.

Back to Snake, who by now has unraveled the whole conspiracy, except for the last part, which is when he confronts Beelzebub and learns that he himself was vaccinated with the anti-FOXDIE serum, FOXLIVE.

If Snake connects to the Satan Matrix, his special blood will de-activate Nano-Gear and avert the apocalypse. But Beelzebub convinces him otherwise, saying with the profound subtlety of such an avant garde franchise "Even if Snake dies, the game won't end"

All of this happens in the first three hours of the game, after which control shifts to Hal Emmerich masturbating somewhere in Antarctica.
