Can I talk to an online doctor like SesameCare and get the antibiotics?

I don't see my primary care physician in like two weeks. I really need them asap for my sinusitis that I'm afraid is making my memory fuzzy or causing damage to it.

They are like dr offices for small emergencies and stuff.

Just go in and tell them the problem. They throw antibiotics around like candy

Vast majority of cases of acute rhinosinusitis are caused by a viral infection. It's caused by bacteria in less than 2% of cases and even then, they'd treat you with supportive care and ask you to come back in a week to see if there's any improvement. Only then would they consider antibiotics.

Ride it out, bro.

Urgent Care is when you need to see a doctor ASAP and cannot wait to see your regular doctor. Usually this is used for non medical emergencies. You will have to go into the urgent care, get checked in and wait until they can see you. They will usually give you any prescriptions you need there. You will take your prescription and get it filled afterwards.

The ER is if you have a medical emergency and may need to be hospitalized. Not recommend to use unless you cant get treatment at the urgent care.

Can I explain to them that this has been going on for months and caused damage to my memory? Literally brain damage. How can I convince them to give me the antibiotics?

You don't treat a viral infection with antibiotics. Most likely what's causing your sinus infection (assuming that's what it really) is a virus, which will run it's course after 7-10 days. "Supportive care" just means to treat the symptoms you're currently experience - doesn't involve antibiotics.

Edit: Antibiotics aren't going to do anything for "damage to my memory" or "literal brain damage." Say that to any doctor and you're sure to not get any meds.

It's chronic, and I'm not even sure if it's sinusitis.. but I do get mild headaches a lot. I do have chronic allergies though...

Is there any way I can cheat to get those antibiotics? Because my memory is getting worse guys.

Sinusitis can actually spread to the brain if left untreated. It causes your memory to get fuzzy at first, and then worse.

This topic is.... odd, to say the least. Why would you need to convince them? See someone and tell them what's going on. If they deem you need meds, you'll receive them. If not, then follow their guidance.

How do they check you for sinusitis?

I don't think they'd believe my memory is getting worse, if anything they wont give me the meds.

You're asking for penicillin, not scamming Sudafed.

Chill.

Do you know for a fact this is bacterial?

You said it's chronic so I assume you got diagnosed.

Its like the ER but for non emergencies.

So its for small wounds, flu, strep throat, basic skin infections, etc.

Stuff that is important but is not life threatening in the short term/or super involved to treat. Cancer for example tends to kill over months or years but its obviously not urgent care material.

That doesn't make it bacterial.

I know you're afraid but those guys are the ones who need to make that judgment, not you.

Gotta take samples, look inside, all of that.

If you start popping penicillin and it isn't bacterial, you're doing yourself no good.

If you start popping penicillin without proper dosage and timing you can actively hurt yourself.

I can't answer that, I don't know.

You're worried and you've Doctor Google'd yourself into being afraid.

It's understandable, I've done it myself.

I don't know what the hours for your local clinic are but they usually open around 8.

Just go there, tell them what you've told us, and leave nothing out.

And keep in mind that what you've read doesn't necessarily equate to what you have.

Dr. Google has a habit of failing a medical school basic: if you hear hoofbeats, think horses and not zebras.

If you have someone show up with the symptoms of a heart attack, it's probably a heart attack and not something exotic.

Dr. Google is less aware of what is and isn't common and doesn't have direct access to your sinuses in order to find the difference.

The UC succeeds on both counts

You are also self diagnosing which is bad.

The brain is a weird thing and also usually not good at measuring itself.

Agonizing over it won't help and you can't take any steps to solve anything right now.

You've done all you can at the moment, just keep reminding yourself of that.
