Refuse it. Tell him he can either send it there once he receives the item himself or you can cancel/refund and have him repurchase and input that shipping address.

Just looked up the address he wants it sent to and it's a restaurant. He said it's where he works. Still seems too risky. Told him I'll cancel and he can repurchase if he wants.

Ive seen this before. People steal accounts and get it sent to a place that they know, where the person who picks up the package cannout be tracked. They also have them sent to AirBnBs and wait for it to arrive to scoop it up.
Dude probably has a friend that works there thats in on it.

Hes likely gonna have it shipped there, then say it's a business with a lot of people and he never received it. I bet that's the case here.

He's asking how long it would take for money to be available after a refund. I'm like fuck if I know, I think within 24 hours if PayPal was used. I guess I need to put in the description verified addresses only next time.

Now he says just ship it to the address on record. I guess he's not worried about it being stolen anymore. Oh well as long as I have delivery confirmation that's on him.

I still wouldn't do it. As soon as I get a buyer that wants me to ship to a different address than the one on their account I go straight to cancelling their order, reporting them to eBay, and adding them to my blocked buyer list. eBay hates its sellers, and you shouldn't take the slightest chance with a sketchy buyer.

Just too much risk for me, and it's not like a switch is hard to sell.

If its a signature required piece, is shipped through USPS, and he is not available when delivery is attempted we just leave a notification slip for him to retrieve it from the post office. So theft shouldnt be a concern

I looked under the report buyer options and asking to ship to another address wasn't there. Maybe it was at one point. I'm hoping this guy is just a relative noob who doesn't know how things work. His account is 8 years old but he has 29 feedback so he apparently doesn't use eBay a lot.

It's been a couple years since I last had to do it, but I assume there should be an option to report a scammer or for violating eBay policies. Or maybe eBay just doesn't give a fuck anymore because $$$.

The thing is if he wanted it shipped to a different address then he could have put that address in at checkout. There's a reason he can't or won't add that address to his account as an alternative address. It's easy to do and you can even do so while checking out. It's super sketch that he messages you after paying asking you to deliver it to a different address. Him not wanting signature at his default address for a high value item is also pretty sketchy. Possibly going to steal it from that address because a stolen account/card or w/e.

Just isn't worth the potential headache to me, but I also put no faith in eBay backing me up as a seller even with plenty of evidence. I've been burned by them fucking me over.
