ive always been shit at fighting games
if i were to try and get good at one, should melty be it?

for reference, i tried the skullgirls tutorial and i couldn't pull off the "bread and butter combo" where you go from some long ground chain into an aerial chain into a finisher or whatever. so thats my skill level

melty blood sounds like a weird name but is it a good fighting game, also theres like 2 or three melty bloods

Skullgirls is super hardcore tbh. Melty Blood is a lot more accessible and the online community is very helpful at letting you get better. And the bread and butter combos are easy to perform. Moon drives make it so basically if you can do a smash special move you can play this game.

Get the newest one Melty Blood Type Lumina

Also this is actually the sixth Melty Blood not the third one lol.

I would recommend Guilty Gear Strive. Online is active and has rollback net code. Its also fairly simple for an anime fighter so it wont be as overwhelming as many other games, although still a lot to learn at first of course. But combos are fairly short and simple for most characters. Its a lot of fun with great visuals and music.
