I got confused on that because I thought they said 2015 then I did hear 2013 the second time they mentioned the year.

Kind of reminds me of that one episode of Mythbusters where they filled a cement truck with explosives and blew it the fuck up, and Adam picked up a random piece of the remaining debris and said "Well there's your problem!"

Thanks. Seems a little low though, imho. Like, why not 10?

Not sure. I've seen another story similar to this where Tesla wanted someone to pay $20k to replace the whole battery. I think it was Rich Rebuilds who was able to figure out which cells within the battery pack were actually defective and just replaced those for a much lower cost.

If I end up in that kinda situation, I'm not sure if I would replace the battery for $20k and just finance, ask for Rich Rebuilds' help, it or just get a new one entirely. The technology would have advanced quite a bit by that time. They've already refreshed the Model S since I bought mine and there are newer features that I can't get through software updates since my car doesn't have some of the newer hardware.

The plaid?

The 2021 models in general are refreshed.
  • They added a 3rd display in the back for people sitting in the back seats on the S and X
  • The cameras around the car now have a 16:9 (I think) ratio instead of 4:3 and I think they do 1080P instead of 720P
  • Yoke steering wheel (I would need to try this out to see if I love/like/can tolerate/hate it)
  • Ventilated front seats (I think this allows for cooled seats as well as heating. Mine only does heated seats)
  • Wireless controller capability for gaming(Mine has to have the controllers plugged into one of the USB ports)
  • I think the USB port for sentry mode / Teslacam has been moved from the center console to the glovebox
  • External speaker to make the car emit a sound to warn pedestrians, which also allows for custom pedestrian warning sounds as well as the ability to use that as a kind of loudspeaker

And probably some other things.

I've heard some people hate it, I've heard others get used to it and have opinions ranging from It's OK to it's terrible. There are some things you gotta get used to with these kinda cars any way. I'd just have to try it for myself.
