Idk, some people like the experience of shopping. I will admit, shopping in-stores is different and feels more fulfilling than shopping online.

Of course, Idk if this would replicate that feeling of "experience" or not.

There was a vision that you'd navigate 3D worlds and shop like you do in real life but on the computer. Know why it didn't take off? Because it's a lot better to simply click on a button with your mouse. Back then, the example they gave was clothes shopping, so you could see how things looked on you. There are much better ways to approximate that than a full 3D environment (use augmented reality). This, however, is simply pointless. Who gives a shit which jug of milk you pick out? It's not going to map to a unique milk jug in real life anyway. You can display what a TV looks like without having to strap on a whole headset just to look at it.
