This, but i'm a little more lenient of three. It was still fun.

EDIT: Also enjoyed the TV series.

Im glad it seems to be doing well but I wont support it until its on streaming too.

All movies should be on streaming now the same day as theaters.

I'd argue 4 was trash and 2 was a darn good sequel. 3 though...yeah.

I don't watch horror/teen slasher films, but one of my friends who is absolutely picky about them says that this movie is really good. He got an early screening for it.

i like all 5 movies though
and yes the tv show is really good as well. but its third season was awful

Out of curiosity, because I know the series has a weird continuity, is this new movie directly related to the previous ones? I can't remember the exact breakdown, but I seem to recall that the first couple were one continuity and then one of the later movies made the original ones "in universe" movies and then I lost track from there.

there is no alternate continuity
there is an in universe movie based off of sidney prescotts life that has 8 installments but since sidney was only attacked by ghostface 4 times most of the movies just made stuff up but thats a meta joke about slasher sequels

a character from scream 4 appears in scream 5
deputy judy
sidney gale and dewey are in all 5 movies

That's cool. I never could get into Scream, or it's parody movie.

You know what I love about Ghostface? He's just a random ass dude, with no superpowers and even gets his ass kicked from time to time. That's pretty dope.

no, sadly not, but one of them is offhandily mentioned as involving time travel and thus considered the worse one.

Imagine watching horror movie sequels. You watch the first one and then bow out, regardless if it was good or bad.

Yes, you'll miss out on an occasional non-waste of time, but your overall life will improve immensely.

I'm going to see it this weekend but I hope the killer or killers ain't a barely 5' something that's basically invincible until the last few minutes.

Been a fan of Scream since first watching it on VHS at the age of 5 back in 98. It was my first R-rated movie too lol. The twist in 4 where the killer was Sidney's cousin, and she only did it because she was jealous of how famous Sidney got due to her run-ins with the ghostface killer and she wanted to become that famous was really fucking stupid. Until that twist, 4 was good, but after, it soured how I felt about it. For me, the order of most to least favorite goes 1 = 2 > 3 > 4. So basically with each Scream movie after 2, the less I enjoyed it. I'm fully expecting 5 to continue that trend honestly, unless the twist is amazing enough to warrant a 5th movie.

scream was a commentary on slasher movies
scream 2 was a commentary on sequels
scream 3 was a commentary on trilogies
scream 4 was a commentary on reboots

scream 5 ended up being a commentary on this requels like halloween 2018 or star wars where they have new casts and lead characters but supported by old legacy characters

Who am I to disagree? I haven't seen it. It's sitting at 75 percent on RT which isn't bad.

As I type this I see "More topics from this board" lists 2 topics that say it's good.

Maybe they aren't slobbering over it and gave a good review to a good movie.

Blows my mind when people say Scream 2 was just okay. Excellent film.
